a couple times a year stillmotion hosts what they call 'the evolution experience'. they have put together a three day intense program that covers a wide array of subjects both practical and philosophical that is geared to help you evolve from videographer to cinematographer. this year was the first time the SM crew decided to take the evo experience on the road and head to australia.

on day two of the experience, attendees are broken into groups and go through three rotations of challenges. that evening, they edit their personal and group projects and present them on day three.

cinevate loves to promote education within our industry. for each workshop, the winner of the personal film category won a cinevate uno dslr rig.

below you will find the best films across all three of the workshops, a detailed description of each challenge, and a behind the scenes film from each group.

Certainly it was our pleasure to support the Stillmotion efforts in Australia :-) It was pretty refreshing to get a note from Patrick to check out the comments here and see all the responses to the page. I'm out of the country as I type this but of course the web knows no borders..so thanks for saying thanks! One of the first Brevis35 units went to Australia and since then, we've been sending products there weekly via our friends over at Fedex. This was an opportunity to send a few thank you presents down under.

Cheers,
Dennis Wood.
