Charles, thanks for pointing that out, it went so quick the first time, I didn't really notice it! Awesome!

The twigs guy is very creative. This was a short story of adventure, wondering where is was going to lead with no dialogue. The end result was very creative.

I'm liking the celery and the twigs. You definitely can't eat my creation. lol.

The branches and twigs is my favorite. Love the nature theme.

I thought we were aiming for functionality. None of these strike me as being useable. I also thought we were using recycled materials but all I see here is food being wasted, store-bought popsicle sticks (If you actually ate that many popsicles then I apologize), and shirts being ripped and torched, all at a time when half of california is on fire haha.

I think the ideas are creative, but I feel as if I read different instructions or something. I used things in the house and garage that would have otherwise been thrown away: empty deodorant, dried up markers, a broken oar, a sock with a hole in it etc. It took a lot of effort to come up with something like that and not waste anything. In fact, I am actually still shooting with the rig and it still seems to be holding up.

I will say however, that the fire one made me laugh very hard and that the cinematography on the sticks one was nice.

we appreciate your post. We received many creative and funny submissions...all of which followed the guidelines we provided...including yours. We are looking forward to deciding and announcing who the winner is.

I'm not a video person, but if I had to buy one of these rigs so far, it would definitely be the fire rig. It's the craziest and funniest, and it seems more like a legitimate commercial compared to the rest. A few are pretty good, but not a single one seems to have as much thought put into it or as many elements going at once as the fire rig. Just my two cents! :)

I have to tell you guys, we've been having a lot of laughs here over the submissions so far. I'm also convinced at this point that we've got to do something with dried bananas in one of our rigs. Think of it. You're stuck in your car during a crazy winter snow storm, no food in sight. Suddenly you spy your Cinevate Banarig in the back seat....

All of these postings are fantastic to watch. I think we all had some great fun creating our own little masterpieces. Branches and twine was very well put together, both rig and video, Ecological rig also put a lot of effort into her presentation, not to say well haven't. Great work guys.....love it.

@Dennis Bananas is definitely the next big thing when it comes to rigs. I'am glad i patented that one ;)

Fire rig has my vote. Very funny, inventive IMO. I think they took the idea and just had fun with it and ended up with a funny piece of video.

I feel for you guys at Cinevate. Gonna be hard to choose which one wins out. some really good entries.

I agree with Tomber Su, the Rice Crispies vid has some beautiful camera work. Really shows off what one can do when you have an arsenal of Cinevate products and editing prowess. Great work!

The VHS rig is interesting, makes me wonder if I could buy an old one and hollow out the insides to make a rig.

The watermelon rig made me laugh pretty hard with the GH1/mud reference. I loved the way it was set up too making it look all trendy like a real product promo, complete those "creative/clever" names that marketers love so much. It seems kind of dark though!

Joseph- thanks for the comment. I do agree that the youtube compression (or double compression?) really darkened up the clip. I can upload the original to vimeo and post a link if our Cinevate benefactors are okay with it.

Jackson- I hear what you're saying. But as a guy on the food rig side that took great lengths to make as eco-friendly a rig as possible, I thought I should say that I doubt there's much waste going on here. Most food rigs were probably eaten after shooting...you can even hear sorlie munching in his video! Several of them look fairly functional too. I can't speak for the other guys, but it took me a long time to figure out what types of produce to use to get the stability and weight right without having to use any non-produce parts. You can see the result in my opening shot. I wouldn't shoot any weddings with a food rig though. ;)

Great work all around guys, lots of awesome ideas. I do want to see a hardcore infomercial-style entry though...hopefully we'll get it in the next batch.

The DSLR video is very different. For a short film they managed to make great use of the time space and still get in a fun story. I like it!

Great stuff! I like some of the videos, some not really, but nice work for all of you. Especially, I like the "Home Made DSLR Rig with sound effects", both the artistic quality and the functionality of the rig. Artistically the best are, IMO, the Branches and the Rice crispies videos.

the "Recycled VHS" rig is actually Beta SP camera. Hence the usage of the term ENG. Pretty sure VHS was never and acquisition device for news.

Tom and Tomber, we're not surprised that people preferred some videos to others considering that the competition was so close. Glad that you enjoyed them.

I'm a little confused by the winner choice. Although they made a valiant effort, to me it was very obvious that these guys did not follow the guidelines of the contest rules. What food product or recycled product were they using? How was it made? Dumping premium fuel to feed a flame is not really eco friendly either??? What were they trying to say anyways. By the way I didn't see a mounted camera on the fire rig like all the others. I guess wearing a still motion t-shirt holds some weight though...

Disappointed to say the least.
